Dr. Shiloh Groot is a Lecturer in Social Psychology at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Prior to this Shiloh has held research and teaching appointments at Massey University and Waikato University. Shiloh is a member of the New Zealand Coalition to End Homelessness (NZCEH) where she has been asked to advice on the expansion of research strategies that will inform the development of national policy and service provision. Her research interests are in Indigenous worldviews and communities, resilience, poverty, homelessness and wellbeing. Specifically, she explores the relevance and application of Māori/Indigenous cultural concepts for understanding contemporary relationships and peoples’ efforts to cultivate a positive sense of self and place.
